Do you want to communicate more clearly and compassionately?

August 14, 2017

Would your life improve if you could communicate more clearly? More compassionately?

If you could meet yourself and others with dignity and compassion instead of blame and judgment?

The answer is a resounding yes.

This is all possible by learning nonviolent communication.

You'll learn practical and life changing material on understanding others, yourself, your feelings, emotions, express needs and how the heck to make requests of others and most importantly communicate in a way that is psychologically nonviolent.

Erin Merrihew Consulting has just announced the next dates for her Compassionate Communication eight week series course (and I'm her apprentice!).

Interested in learning more? Then check out Erin's FREE workshop on the topic.

Where: Northgate Branch of the Seattle Public Library

When: Sunday, September 10 from 1:00pm - 2:30pm

Eight Week Course Information:

How would your life improve if you could stay openhearted through conflict? If you could process difficult feelings without isolating or shaming yourself? If you could meet yourself and others with dignity and compassion instead of judgment and blame?

How we communicate can literally make or break our relationships. If you’ve ever tried to effect meaningful change in your personal life, workplace, or community at large, then you know how hard it is to do it alone. Working together is a MUST if we are going to build the kind of world we want to live in!

It’s simple: if we want resilient relationships to create positive change, we need skillful communication. Listening with an open mind, staying connected through challenge, conveying our opinions, ideas and requests in a way that enhances collaboration—these are the skills we need to collaborate, as well as advance our personal careers and larger goals. And like any art, skillful communication takes practice.

Join us for 8 sessions of hands-on learning around compassionate, effective communication! In addition to experiential learning in each session, you will also receive weekly handouts, materials, and practices to support you in solidifying your new skills.

DATES & LOCATION
We will meet on Monday evenings from 7:00-9:00pm at the Seattle Waldorf High School: click here for map & directions. We will meet on September 25, October 2, 9, 16, 23, (SKIP October 30), November 6, 13 & 20.

MATERIALS
Each week there will be suggested readings from Marshall Rosenberg's book "Nonviolent Communication: A Language of Life." Purchasing this book is recommended to enrich your learning (though not required). You might also enjoy the Companion Workbook.
