If you've been feeling overly emotional, scattered or anxious, it could just mean that you set aside some time to ground yourself.
While simply standing barefoot on the grass or hugging a tree are all viable options, that can get a bit more difficult when it's cold and wet outside (there will be no "cash me ousside" in Seattle rn).
Another option is to engage in a grounding meditation/visualization.
After you've settled into your meditation (performed a few minutes of deep breathing), I invite you to visualize a ball of red energy at the base of your spine.
Your root chakra (which is a fancy way of saying an "energy center") is located there.
Imagine this red ball of energy plunging deep into the Earth until it reaches the core of the Earth.
Picture red energy flowing from the core of the Earth and filling up your body.
See your body bathed in vivid red light.
Next, move to the sacral chakra, which is located below the belly button.
This chakra is represented by the color orange.
Continue to see the red light, while also seeing a vivid orange.
Again, visualize the orange ball of energy plunging into the core of the Earth and funneling back up into your body.
Picture yourself bathed in red and orange light.
You can also visualize roots growing from your legs into the Earth.
The purpose of this meditation is to welcome the feeling of safety, balance and creativity into our lives.
When we take the time to ground and center ourselves, we can feel more peaceful and less overwhelmed or frantic.
I did this meditation myself on Sunday and I definitely reaped the benefits.
Enjoy and let me know how you like it.
