Ruminate on you.

For my last post of 2016, I want to extend an invite to all of you to ruminate on this past year.

Ruminate is a verb and defined as "to think deeply about something."

Well, I invite you to ruminate on YOU.

Last year on this day, I told all my social media platforms I was going dark until January 1, 2016.

I wanted to use the time away from everyone else’s thoughts, opinions, feelings and selfies (ha) and focus on tuning into MYSELF.

“What worked for me this past year?” I asked myself…

“What didn’t work for me?”

“What habits, thoughts, beliefs, actions and people are serving my greatest highest good?”

“What habits, thoughts, beliefs, actions and people are no longer serving my greatest highest good?”

“What or who do I need to quit?”

“Who am I?”

“What do I want?”

“What are my big vision or stretch goals?”

During my “dark” reflective period, I sifted and sorted through the year I had just had and set my sights on the future.

I had several big goals for 2016:

1. Get hired at Amazon.

2. Travel to Guatemala with my brother.

3. Have a personal website.

4. Have my first ticketed workshop.

5. Try pole dancing.

6. Get more tattoos.

7. Do life coach training.

8. Become a vegetarian and stick to it (almost my one year anniversary on January 1, 2017).

Well, friends, they ALL CAME TRUE.

I can honestly say that at the time of setting these goals I had no idea HOW or IF they would happen, but I chose to BELIEVE that they would.

I forgot my fear and followed my faith.

I do not wish to share this with any of you to gloat, because I can’t stand when social media is utilized as purely a highlight reel.

I wish to share this with you to inspire you to allow yourself some peace and quiet time to reflect.

And in the spirit of authenticity, I want you all to know that this year was still full of ups and downs, highs and lows, and there were moments of intense rage, grief, guilt, sadness, loneliness, just as much as there were moments of joy, laughter, bliss and love.

One area I am not particularly proud of in my life is the handling of my finances. I have some serious habit / behavior / belief re-wiring/shifting to do as I have quite a nice pile of debt that I must free myself from.

Self-love is another area I am cultivating a deeper awareness around as we step through the threshold into 2017.

So, I encourage you to tune out the world and tune into your heart, your higher self or your intuitive place of knowing.

Ask yourself:

Who are you?

What do you want?

Where are you going?

What relationships are serving you?

What relationships are no longer serving you?

What are your dreams?

Allow yourself to ruminate on these questions and see what arises within you.

Bottom line is…

I don’t want you to have a mediocre life.

I don’t want you to obsessively countdown to Friday at 5:00pm week after week.

I don’t want your only joy to be going out drinking with your friends.

I want so much more for you.

But you have to want it too.

So, with that, my friends, family and everyone in between, I will again go dark on social media until January 1, 2017.

Wishing you all happy holidays.

See you next year!
